Time to Decide

Alright boys and girls here's the deal. Server 03 is going nuts.

Upgrades have once again become so large that the server is lagging and at some points for no known reason whatsoever is deleting peoples upgrades

Btw, Zombie Master 1.2.0 has been delayed again due to bugs. We're assuming we're not gonna see it for quite a while.

To avoid all of the whining and moaning of last reset we've come up with a simple solution. You, the wpzm community are going to decide what we're going to do with 03, there are three options...

Fix it (wipe the upgrades) we know from past experience that this should repair it.

Leave it. Bearing in mind the server will then become so laggy and bug filled it won't be playable

Do something else. If you have a solution to this problem or an idea of how to fix it then please make a post here.

You have until midnight this saturday ( 11/10/08 ) to decide, i will count the votes then and take the appropriate desicion based on what the community wants, This is in your hands now folks, we are sick of being moaned at to fix things and then even more moaning for doing what's asked of us so it's now down to you.

If the vote goes to "other" then we will try any suggested solutions and if they are not successful we will go with option 2 unless asked to do otherwise.

hm, wasn't supposed that you would wipe the upgrades when the new version comes in it? If the new version is going to come soon, i would vote "leave it".

But if it is going to last another 2 weeks or more, i would vote reset all the updates. I will vote accordingly depending on the answer.

Answer that 1.2.0 has been delayed due to unexpected bugs.

We're goin under the assumption that 1.2.0 might not be out for a loooooong time.

To be honest there really isn't an 'Other' option as it would have been thought of already. If you leave it as it currently is we won't be able to play so that leaves wipe the upgrades! Nuke em' Cmndr0.

Just to be different...

I play quite frequently on Redqueen, and I think that it should involve some sort of system of time (when it becomes laggy, every month, etc.) where people who haven't played since should have their stats deleted. This way, those who are frequently playing won't be affected, but those who used to play, or just came on once are unlikely to be as affected.

If it's not possible, or won't work, please roll my vote from "Other" to "Wipe"

unfortunately upgrades does not have the ability to delete player stats after a certain ammount of time, it would save us a doing this every few months.

That give me an idea of another alternative option, or to be thought for future decisions. You could made a thread asking to post to know who are the ones that dont want his upgrades deleted (usually the most participating are normally in touch with the community).

This could also be useful to give some kind of publicity or attraction to new visitours who will willing to read and participate more in the community (although i participate pretty few times and i'm not sure if i'm entitled to talk about this).

The current server plug-in does not allow this unfortunately. Its either all or nothing, as the upgrades file is one (HUGE) file. We will look to see about this in further versions of the plugin. (Not created by us)
