I'm in ffa, just lining up behind this SQL, I've got him in my sights, squeeze the trigger and POOF! he's gone, disappeared, along with everybody else in the arena.

This happens quite often to me (not the getting behind a SQL bit) and I'm wondering if there's anything I can do on my end to improve things.

Its called Lag m8...
In simple terms either his modem /your modem... or the wireplay server cant keep up with the action. Thats why he appears to "jump" or vanish completely. (His jumping could be u with a bad connection) As to anything u can do.if u connecting via wireplay direct u need to be at V90,anything else i.e. BT u take your chances..I seem to remember turning graphic details down a bit via the AA front screen when i had a 33 modem helped a bit, and the technophobes amongst us use various modem strings.
But its a common problem..Sunday nights can be fun..and thats mearly trying to log into the game.

If everyone in the arena dissapears then its probably not lag, but a bug in the code that is disconnecting you. It happens to us all, and all the time, so dont worry. Apparantly a fix is on the way

It happens to me all the time every time on BT, but it's never happened on WP Direct.

I know this doesn't help but I had a strange moment where I was shot down by a pilot who I had in my sights at the time. (NO, it wasn't a h2h before you ask!!). A very weird feeling! On wireplay direct, too.

Yes Garibaldi, that's happened to me too. I lined him up, he was a slow. Then I died from a hail of bullets into my rear end. I wondered if he had a double!

Some people have even been able to log off, then log back on and see themselves!

I tend to talk a bit too much, and I find I'm always logged off just as I've spent ages typing in something really amusing.

Can't complain too much. If it wasn't for the undesired log-offs, I may never have found the Club Page, or the original Noticeboard, or all you woderful people. Not to mention the hints pages, the Plane comparison table, and those enlightening Hemel pics.
