View Full Version : Runway Kills
I was Killed Thirteen times tonight (steep learning curve) in Rookie Arena, five of those were runway kills.
It's......Gosh Darned! annoying.
Hugh.
Its unfortunate that it occurs, but in Rookie all the pilots are learning and are not yet aware of the CoC and so dont know how to behave
My advice is to not stoop to their level, and fight clean.
Regards
Chad
PS. Damn sig...where did that come from?

Chads right..but i sat and watched rookie on saturday..lot of "skilful rookie" pilots we got on AA!! Their Low flying technique is a joy to behold with some of them.. unbeliveably so at times http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/frown.gif
Care to name a few names, Skeleton?
It would bring great cheer to those Rookies whose only pleasure comes from dodging trees and parked trucks. After all, they are still getting shot down an awful lot (I know, aren't we all!).
Dragonweed says "Praise is a wonderful gift that can bestow pleasure on both recipient and ... (what's the posh word for "giver").. the other one". http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/teeth.gif

Ah, double posting by accident, it's almost like being home again.
Yes of course, I was trying to make different little icons by taking pot luck.
So far I only know http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/teeth.gif
Where do you find a list of the others?

must aggree with the amount of "skillfull rookies". I played for the first time last week and gotvery ****ed off being killed by Pof's etc..spoiled it for me. A rookie arena shouldbe a place to learn the game and pick it up without being blown out of the sky every 20seconds by more skilled players who perhaps cantcut it in free for all but are far from being rookies

You would be suprised how many Aco and Ama`s fly in rookie to warm up and look for new talent and also the amount of players who have been here for months and are still playing in rookie and are bloody good pilots but are frightened to fly in ffa/teamz ..

yes indeed, my 8 year sister decided to give aa a try this weekend, god it brings back memories of myself when i was a measly cdt http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif
anyway jumped into rookie and what have we got? on GCp, a SqL and a friggin Aco! not to mention a squad calling themselves [PRETEENS] who seemed to be pretty good, so whoever they are they probably been around for a bit of time and I'd just like you to know you guys are sick, said it once to one of your guys 'lolita' or whoever it was, and the reply me 'yeah i know i get loadsa attention from it' i mean all he runway killing and tking was bad enough but bringing in preteen s h i t and stuff into aa is unacceptable http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/frown.gif
anyway aside from that if you dont want to be runwayed killed in ffa dont bother to land. Its been said before and i totally agree with it.
as for the smilies, they're located on the faq page dragonweed

Reading the above i have no objection to anyone going into rookie looking for new talent and helping the "rookies" along..
Ill even accept that some peeps dont want to go to FFA cos they cant cut it.
But going into FFA thinly disguised as a POff and then braying about your 4 stars is hardly fair play and obviously as the man above says gives the new guys the wrong impression.
At least go in under your real rank...
Name names...nope u all far better at this game than me and I dont like vendettas..just mearly making an observation. ;-)
Thanks for all the above pearls of wisdom.
I can see the point about rookies not knowing any better and I can live with being rk'ed but it's still frustrating.
Maybe the next program patch can put neon signs on the runway.."Pwease Don't Shoot!"
Hugh.
Piro,
Next time you or anyone else sees [PRETEENS] on give a shout for an admin (thats Chad, Emily, TK or me). Personally I say damn what the CoC says I don't find that funny, and I'm sure Wireplay won't either.
Mebe
As do I.
There is a limit!
The thing with in-jokes, is that if you get the joke then you reveal something about yourself. PRETEENS could be an entirely innocent reference to a group of youngsters wanting to play the game together. However, anyone who has accidentally fallen into the dark and seamy underside of the Net will know only too well what PRETEENS usually refers to.
Please keep this area open, fresh, innocent-ish and free from the sweaty dark-minded smut that can all-too easily take over a site. Don't let us go to the Dark Side.
Hello? I don't understand you. Are you criticising us for understanding the significance?
No, not really. After all, by doing that I would be revealing my own past murkiness, and stand open to cries of "hypocrite!".
No, I just meant to say, there are sweet kind people out there who do things without realising that there may be a double meaning. We all laughed at Carry-On films when we were kids, but how many of the jokes did we really understand? I am hoping that the PRETEENS thing was some ignorant fool who was trying to make a feeble joke. If he did it in the full knowledge of the type of thing that usually carries that label, then he is a sick perverted scumbag who should be thrown off the game with a life-ban.
I would like to think that there are plenty of families out there who play this game together, father-son, mother-daughter, brothers and sisters, of all ages. I really don't want the whole of the Net to be geared toward the sad lonely unattached male who gets his kicks from pictures of naked people that he wouldn't have the guts to talk to in real life. I implied no personal criticism of the previous posters, whom I love dearly, just tried to make excuses for what may have been an innocent idiot making a bad joke, although why I did that is getting beyond me.
So are long, boring posts going out of fashion... not if Dragonweed has anything to do with it!
Don't need to be too murky to understand what goes on. If it's meant as a joke I would explain it ain't very funny & can you change it before someone gets offended or worse and if not I'd explain that this is a server admin tool and this is what it does.
Hehe I gotta say this, can't resist....
"This is a Server Admin Tool, Wireplays most powerful tool and it could blow your AA clean away. Now I know what you're thinking punk, you're thinking did he boot 6 or only 5 players? Well, to tell you the truth I've kinda forgotten myself in all that team killing excitement. So you need to ask yourself do I feel lucky, well do you, punk?"
That's it, from now on I'm gonna be the Dirty Harry of admins http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif
Don't say stuff like that too often m8 doesn't put across the right image.

Ahh well, I had hoped it was obviously a joke http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/frown.gif but for anyone who needs clarification it was a joke!
Yeah knew it was m8. It was the joking about your serious role that I was saying to be careful with, wouldn't want ppl thinking you are flipant that was all. Was said for your own protection sorry if I offended.

ah the preteen stuff, those people weren't preteens and notice its in the plural - people, seems a group of nob 'eads http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/teeth.gif decided to get together...
when my sis was in rookie there were two of them with the preteen tag and the names after them, which i no longer remember, seem to indicate that they werent a bunch of real preteens having fun http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/frown.gif, they new excatly what they were trying to imply and its just as well my sis didnt understand or notice (too busy trying to stop crashing http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif )

I liked MEBES warning anyway http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif
To be serious for a second.. Bad joke or not (they knew what they were implying) The slime with the unamusing sqn tag need to be removed from the game forever.
Not big...not clever..and if anyone wants the big folk at wireplay (all bow) breathing down our necks..one way is to sit tight, and do nothing.
Well done Mebe!! Kick on sight for stuff like that.. And in Rookie of all places..great advert!!
Understood Len, not offended.
RE: PRETEENS
For what it's worth, I didn't know what this meant until I read the later postings. Maybe at my old and tender age I'm losing it, but I prefer to think I'm just innocent in these respects. So what Dragonweed was trying to say has some relevence, even if in a limited way.
I have two young daughters and a very young son, so you can imagine how I feel about that sort of stuff. (They're never on the net.)
To be honest, I never imagined for a minute that AA would ever be tainted with this, whether real or implied, the second I ever see anything along these lines again, then AA can kiss my ass goodbye!
FB
Does rookie still have AA turned off.?
Happy.
Well ADMINs can deal with the PRETEENS on sight.
And AA is on in Rookie
Chad
