Right, I am currently at Jammys house for 5 days, and Attackdog has been round. Both of em related a story to me I have to bring to your attention cos in typical fashion of lots of people, they wont complain in public, lucky for them I have no such fears http://www.wireplay.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif
OK, this week in the TA tourny, Attackdog was subjected to abuse as Club Captain from Juventus. He phoned HD and the idiot was allegedly kicked off, he came back. Apparantly if HD change a log ons password, this buffoon knows how to get his Log On back. Now working on the theory that the imbicile in question is nt too smart, it sounds to me like he can call HD, get a different HDer and regain his Password. I hope this isnt possible, but whats the alternative?
Moronboy also has a different logon, namely GENERAL SNEAKY. He used this log on on the next day to go into a Populous prop by Jammy, where Attackdog, Peapod and a few others were. He then prededed to announce that "Attackdog is a child rapist" cutting and pasting it to fill the screen. Peapod called HD armed with her trusty captains code to be told by Helpdesk6 that "theres nothing I can do, I cant kick him off", HD6 then finally arrived into the prop to discover that the arse had gone, so HD6 tootled off to a Duke prop. Now wheres the support that club capts have been promised? If they cant be the "police" (and I dont use that term lightly) who the hell is going to do it?
All I want to know is, what the hell is going on? Whens this going to be sorted out? It makes the argument about a minority ruining it for the majority seem pitifull when anyone can get away with this. Also, If this idiot comes into your prop, squelch him and do not play him. His other aliases are Sundance God and Dennis Bergkamp, and he is well know to WP apparantly.

ive had problems wiv people like that but my problem was this guy hacking my mails. James D33 and people always say wp are kicking him off but he comes back as different names all the time. Maybe u can make a limit to how many names the are or something to stop using thousands of names.

I don't handle this personally, but at the end of the day as this is causing as much disruption as you guys say - then I've got to do something.
When we get back we are allready taking a look at this to see what we can come up with.
I know another - I won't promise but...
Like I said before it takes time to get things right, but I suspect that we could spend all of our time and resources to solve this and we still would fail. Any malicious person will get entry if they try hard enough.
Still maybe we can work better as a community - Uprising is currently (Xmas excepted) looking into giving the CLub Captains more power to eject unpleasant individuals. My only concern is how do we get the balance right between open access to all gamers and protecting people from those who will always want to ruin it for everyone.
As usual we are open to suggestions

I reckon the best solution so far is Qhees idea on the tech boards to my nicknames thread. At least your aware of it now which is the important thing. Sadly there is plenty of people like Jammy and Attackdog who will put up with it to a point, and dont like complaining (as they see it). Yep, in the Jedi Knight community we have a trouble maker too. There are mainly 2 of them named WPA ZULU(also known as WPA MELTDOWN) and the other one is WPA RACCOM. These guys have absoltuely nothing to do with Jedi Knight but insist on comming into the tourneys and flooding real rude language. This is real bad as our community is getting smaller and these people scare newbies away. How would you like to go and play in a tourney and only be subjected to abuse? Most of the time we go and hide in a prop and have to arrange the tourney in there which is much harder for the CC to do. So we complained to wireplay, what the did they do? "We understand you have been using inapropiate language, please refrain from doing so." Huh, big deal that did. The people were prouder having nbeen told this and going arround with it in there CV.
Now this one guy became such a trouble maker that we sorted him ourselves as wireplay refused to help. He is now gone thankfully.
Wireplay say they record conversations. WHy do they record them if they do **** all with them??!?!!

Hog - I truly realise the urgency of building in a proper kick off function for Captains and streamlining the whole ID/nickname process to catch trouble makers. It is very interesting that The guy you say who is causing trouble in Dennis Bergkamp/Sundance god as he has wrecked AS2 tourneys and I have sent him 2 letters and he apologised and stopped. I will however be taking it much further and much higher with him on Jan 4 as I'm more than pi##ed off now with him. I really mean it - no more chances or letters this time.
Just for the record,Juventus aka Dennis Bergkamp/Ralfy Baby/FC Barcelona/General Sneaky etc etc etc did his best to disrupt the CMR tourney last week.
I was gonna talk to you about it when you got back Uprising, but seeing as this thread was here I thought I would make use of it.
Why he wants everyone to hate his guts I can't begin to understand, this guy/kid has a serious problem.

As you said Uprising, we had numerous problems with Juventus/Sundance etc etc for the other 100 names he has got.
He found out on Monday that I am no longer a club captain and this seems to have given him the idea he can give me dogs abuse again.
Luckily I'm prepared for him now and I have got a few screen captures of the same abuse that Attackdog got. I also got a newbie (I think) called Johnny to send me a wiremail confirming another incident of this in another prop.
I also phoned the helpdesk and got told "nothing could be done" which is a bit dissapointing after all you said would be done. I even asked just to get him kicked at that time but they said they couldnt do it. This seems to show that the depending on who you get at the helpdesk ditates what actions if any can be carried out.
I was also going to try and talk to you at some point about this guy because as you stated he has had a written warning and you said you wouldn't give him another chance.
If at all possible I think you should make an example of him on the server so any other idiots on the service get the message loud and clear that this sort of thing will not be tolerated.

Can anyone recomend a good program for screancaptures? So i can capture WPA MELTDOWN when he next disrupts the JK tourney.

I use a programme caled HypersnapDX. It will capture windows or the whole screen and it says it will also capture 3DFX images aswell though I havent tried this.
I used this to get evidence of Juve abuse. Its also Shareware aswell so you can try it out first.

Its sad to see that for a few idiots,the general well behaved majority need to suffer. The most important people to look
after are our "Newbies". If you were a 12 yr old and came online looking for a fun time.would you not be affected by some
of your so called peers f'ing and blinding.
It makes it seem acceptable and perpetuates itself by making the newbies think it fun. Also on a less cynical note, some younger members will be put off by this continual abuse. Do we not as adults have a responsibility to nuture those younger than us and protect them from the kind of Crap that is happening now?
I dont know if this is feasible but can WP not just ban users by there phone number.
Is there no way of using the caller ID system to disallow entry?
Surely even though banned from WP, with false details, another account can be made.
Not sure if this is technically possible but heh, im asking the question.

If u have a hacking utility called
BACK ORIFACE.
Enter your own IP into it and Scan all your
passwords, YOur WP one should come up.
So if WP did change it you can get it back.

Well, well, well - what a time to read this thread... I'd just got to the bottom thinking of a couple of names to add when I find that one of them has had the audacity to post here... Okay - so JAMES D33 might not be quite stupid enough to go round insulting people but he was the subject behind my WIREMAIL HACKERS thread some time ago and check out BETA's thread for some more information on how friendly he is...
I also wanted to mention WPA MELTDOWN as I've has problems with him on Poker Newbie Help nights - hes not the sort of person you want greeting people new to WirePlay who are looking for their first club to get involved with:
Newbie - "Hi, how can I play poker on WirePlay???"
WPA MELTDOWN (flooding) - "POKER IS ****" (you'll have to use your imagination for the stars)...
I don't mind it so much myself as I'm usually pretty good at getting them into an arguement on pager - and I just know that I can come up with more intelligent comments than they can - but it is off-putting for many people...

It seems from some of the posts here that helpdesk isn't always willing to do anything... I've only had to call them once myself about this and the user got kicked (to return 2 minutes later as a different alias)... I don't know what ideas you have to give the captains some more power but it can only be a good thing - otherwise helpdesk need strict instructions to act on complaints from more 'senior' WirePlay users straight away - and letters / phone calls to parents being used...
I'd like to suggest a Hall of Shame again - but I think for the few repeat offenders mentioned here this wouldn't work at all (although it may prove as discouragement for 'ocassional' abusers)...
I know its not really fair to say who we want on WirePlay and who we don't - but I'm sure when we connected for the first time we weren't out to be abused this way... Alao - I'm sure that when you created WirePlay you didn't envisage it being used in this way... Lets get it back to what we all hoped it would be...

It wasn't WPA MELTDOWN we removed it was WPA RACCOM (his gay m8.)Remember how annoying he is? Well immagine someone 5times worse than him alongside meltdown. Thats how bad our tourneys became, we phoned helpdesk and they did **** all. Week after week this guy came up and eventually we were forced to use our 'contacts.'
As for WPA MELTDOWN, if you see someone going round wireplay by the name of Stamper 2(note the space) being really abbusive then take no notice as it is him and not me. Another one for the nickname debates me thinks.

all this hacking and abuse seems to be getting out of hand. I remember a long time ago i got abuse from the wpa but that has died down now. They obviously must be rich *******s with no ****ing real life m8z to be going on wp and doing nothing but abuse people to chuck money like that away. All the abuse dont bother me much but i can see how it affects the CCz. Instead of changing passwords why doesnt wp disable names? And the hall of shame would be a bad idea velvet coz i bet they would be competeing for top spot and encourage abusive players!
As for the hacking well people have hacked my mail but that has stopped now.
I think the few people who do cause grief should be left as the issue is gettin more and more out of hand.

I too am amazed at the people who have this much money to use Wireplay as an abuse service, but then again, having seen some of the comments on here, these people are obviously lacking in something.....hmmmm, a life? Nahhhh, too easy a jibe, any self respect,hmmmmm possibly.....friends, more than likely....a reasonable grasp of reality - a got it! FFS, get a life you immature little *£$"^%^^% I think most of us grew out of the "I've got lots of friends, and their bigger and harder than you" right after "My Dads bigger than your Dad" so why don't you just **** off back to watching Playbus, and leave the good people who enjoy their games playing experience alone.
Wireplay, this is a serious issue, are you going to do anything about this abuse of your facilities or not? Is it because "they pay the same as the rest of us, and it's all revenue at the end of the day" which I sincerely hope it isn't, and don't truly believe that you can be that shortsighted about, but I'm seriously losing patience with these people, and I feel that I'm not alone. A response please?

Darned fine idea mate, surely at Wireplay you have the facility to obtain CLI, I'm assuming that if you don't have it then you can get it - simple, then you don't have any problems with it, simply bar the troublemakers from entering the server! Or alternatively, take it to them, report them to BT for abuse and have the Wireplay numbers barred from their phones!!!! MWAHHHHHAAAHAHA!!!! The collective genius of Newsgroups and Noticeboard forums will someday rule the world!!!!! (If we can be bothered to get up off our backsides and do it that is ;o) )
Anybody else got any techie ideas for getting rid of these fools? (Oohhhh I feel like Batman with his utility belt!)

I really don't see why WP are having such a problem with ppl using multiple accounts to abuse others.
Seems to me that when you enter a new profile it should connect the first time to give your details, disconnect, then WP calls you back to ensure that all your details are correct. Soon as that's done you could ban any new profiles coming from a particular phone number.

No Crash m8 - you can't ban more than one profile on a single phone number or families wouldn't be able to play on Wireplay. Some of us have brothers, sons, daughters etc.
There are better solutions - see in the thread started by Hog on the Tech board titled "Nicknames - Question for Wireplay"

Both Raacom and zulu know each other outside of wp very well, i was ACTUALLY talking to raacom ages ago on the wp pager(dont die of shock when i say talking), he told me that it was pier pressure that zulu was putting on him. raacom is actually ok, cos i can get him to talk to me like a normal human being, its just weed wackers like the zulu guy who needs chucked off this network. As 4 the group of sundances, i`ve heard that they ALL r a bunch off pains in the arse, maybe its just 1 or 2 of them, so why cant they tell the others to cool it.

If you really want to know I was the one which got Racom off of wireplay zulu seems to act exactlly like racom. I reported MR D33 to wireplay. Uprising get the police involved again. Mr D33 obviouslly thinks that he is so good at hacking. He thought that he was good last night by shutting down my comp & tryed sending me a bug across before VIA ICQ. If you are with ICQ it is a good idea to be offline when Mr D33 is online. He hacked my mails & also hacked Beta's mails as you can see with the names 'BADBOYMAIL' & 'BETAMAIL'. I thought that wireplay had sorted him out??

This really should be a case where the phone number is banned and the IP from these forums - WirePlay needs to start making an example of some people else it'll just go to pot...
What happened with RACCOM??? Why is he no longer with us???
Finally, is anyone a lawyer, policeman/woman, works for BT directly??? What are the procedures for prosecuting someone for malicious phone calls??? Surely this abuse on WirePlay will count as such (if not we can introduce a legal precident)... If we collect screen-shots of these people (and I know some of you have) can we not simply pass them onto the police ourselves???

Correct me if im wrong but isn`t there some way of tracing these idiots phone numbers.Once u got that a nasty letter to thier parents would be a good place to start.If im correct then the penalty for nusiance calls can be pretty harsh(abuse on wp is the same as making a nusiance call in my book). In fact i think BT would probably go as far as disconnection.
The above maybe completly wrong but surely somthing along these lines can be achieved

WPA MELTDOWN(ZULU) is only 15/16 so i expect raccom is the same age if they're mates. SO wireplay give us there phone no.'s and we'll ring up there mum, heheh. <evily LOL>

us captains should stick together and perhaps do a report each month of all known aliases of trouble makers.
Or even for every complaint to wp about an idiot the idiot should be branded like have a warning logo next to there name to say there a known trouble maker.and this warning label should stop there for at least 4 months until they are cleared....
