Paintball Debate:

Ok, we are having a bit of a debate in the IRC chan. Is Paintball an extreme sport or not. Convo is as follows:

I believe an extreme sport to be a sport that is on the edge, where a mistake could cost you either your life, or fluff you up bigtime.

Paintball imho doesn't fall into these categories, yeah you could get blinded, but only if your stupid, or someone else is.

Im not sure, but i know it does bloody hurt when u get hit close range.
and it costs a bomb like most other extreme sports.
i wouldnt call it extreme coz u dont push your body to the edge u just do wot its designed to do run, but with guns!

Well I would say its extreme cuz if it could blind you, and it involves guns, well, that is extreme on my account.

I wouldnt say extreem, rather, painfull when it hits you in the wrong place

Well its sort of extreme, though you could hardly call it a sport, its sort of like a real life first person shooter.

but some may argue that calling angling/fising or snooker sports is wrong - maybe even golf!

Not much physical activity needed in any of those - paintball however, speaks for itself...

I dont think paintballing is extreme. I think an extreme sport is something that can be dangerous.

Paintballing is a sport, but not extreme, you can get hurt, but you can get hurt in things like footeh and golf (swing, swoosh, dink, ow :{)

Becuase meh mum is next to me now (and she's an english teacher , i asked her what her definition of extreme is.

There iis no way Paintballing is an extreme sport, anyone who says it is because it hurts is just being a picky

ffs you can get injured at least as badly in football as in paintball, hell even walking down the street could possibly get you killed, should walking down the street be labelled extreme even in safe areas?

Paintball is a sport, however its not the same type of thing as extreme sports and is in no way extreme

I did this about a month ago, and yes it hurts! have 2 bruses on each leg when I was hit from about 12 yards - one of my mates was hit n the back on the head from point-blank range - i sympthize
