    Hiya,
I'm unable to load up Max Payne as this error message appears:
"Max Payne requires a DirectX 8 compatible display adapter. Please consult the troubleshooting readme in the installation folder"

    Can anyone help me please?
    Here are some specs:

    Graphic cards: None
    Windows 98
    128MB Ram

ERm theres yer answer, display adapter is window's word for graphics card. You cant play Max payne without one and a 32mb graphics card is recommended although many can play with a 16mb card seemily.

If you have none yer stuffed basically

You will have a graphics card otherwise you wouldn't see anything on your screen.

I think you need to install DX8 again, but if you do have a on-board graphics card, then forget it. MAX PAYNE need a beefy PC and a middle/top of range graphics card to run.
