    Problems

I have been oh so very nice about this and rather than people showing me and the DOD community the respect it deserves and giving us answers, things have just been brushed aside, so I am posting in here as a last ditch attempt to get these answers.

The DOD community is hanging on by the skin of its teeth, with only a few members left that have put up with being pushed from pillar to post, being given excuse after excuse for things not being done.

I am too tired too go into the details, the relevent parties who should be doing things for the community there can read he forums and see what needs doing, so please don't post with a reply asking what needs doing, because this will just annoy people even more tbh.

Go read the forum and while your there ask yourself why the bloody hell the few are still there trying to make things work, quite simply because they love the game, end of.

Wireplay has let that community down BIG time and it is very , very sad indeed Someone take the responsibilty bestowed upon them by title, get in there and start making things work for them ffs.

Its not fair and its not right

This post is an honest post, do not flame, flaming has no place here, the community wants answers and needs action.

That's a serious sweeping statement; point me in the direction of the thread so I can see how WP has let you down.

Wireplay and its staff / systems has let the DOD community down, read the Wireplay Day of Defeat Forum, then pose the question how has this situation been allowed to carry on as it has?

If the buck stops at you, because the Manager(s) responsible are unwilling to commit themselves to making a decision, and you in turn quite clearly label yourself as Wireplay then it is a Wireplay issue, so although my statement is serious, I am 100% confident in making it, otherwise I wouldn't have.

Its not my place to ask why? Thats for other people to do. If it really needs explaining Qube then there is a bigger break down of communication than I first anticipated.

We are both not stupid or children, look at that forum and see for yourself. I have no beef with you but for you to ask me what the problem is, does make me wonder if people really tell you what is going on here?

Thats enough from me tbh, I don't want to row, all I want is answers. Somewhere along the line the systems in place are not working, I would have thought it is up to you as 'Wireplay' to find out why this is? Although dont for one minute think I am telling you how to do your job.

No hassle, no arguments, just answers is all thats needed.

...actually if you 'honestly' cannot see where things have gone wrong? Then PM in IRC anytime (after 7pm) You can contact me via telephone and I will explain in detail why the situation in WPDOD occurred and why similar situations occur over much of Wireplay itself and is still carrying on now within many other communitties not just WPDOD.

Its up to you, but I am totally cool doing it this way.

Dude, if I know about something then I can sort it.

I make sure WP has a network and servers, I make sure they're working and I'm working with PIPEX to turn WP into a profitable platform.

The day-to-day running of the public boxes I leave up to the community, Breath looks after that.

However if there is something you feel that is wrong send me an email and I'll sort.

I am talking to you now as I type, I will mail Qube with a cc to Breath explaining in detail the problems I have faced here over the year.

It never was and never will be personal, I just struggle to see things as others do.

i can see what you are saying tiger, i had tried to leave wireplay dod in the hands of people i thought could run what i couldnt while at university, and i can see why people left.

The only downfall i can see mainly from the dod point of view is the equipment of the servers and the experience of myself with linux, which is minimal i may point out.

The only things as i am now back from uni, and if i was to point some sugestions was a posibility of upgrading the server, to something that would run a 18 man server comfortably, we are only really able to get a good game on a 12 man server, and doesnt really appeal to most gamers.

If anyone has any advice please help.

You have to try and build a niché for yourself, like CS, most people don't like 12 man servers, but they seem to be going ok-ish. Although they suffer from being crap when they are full.

If you need any help just let me know and I'll jump in and do what I can.
