*** an excerpt from “Souls Flight: The Forgotten Paths” ***
My name is Dregoth Eaebrill, a craftsman, a historian, a sorcerer. I am one of the few Noldor left who still roam the world freely, choosing instead my self imposed exile from my kin. Why do I wander you ask? Well friend then sit down and let me tell you… Long before your time my only concern was smithing and my pursuit of Feanors works. They drove me relentlessly with an obsessive furor that few could match. I was nearly peerless in my craft, the combination of my magic and my skill an unsurmountable obstacle to the Enemy. Or at least so I thought. In the year 1697 I was to be proven wrong the first time. Eregion , then my home, fell to Saurons forces and my lord Celebrimbor was killed, our armies and homes crushed and destroyed. In my vanity I could not see how it was possible that such a thing could befall the Eldar! Surely not with the weapons and armour that we the masters had wrought! In our darkest hour Lord Elrond led us from the ruins to what was to be our new home, Imladris. It was there that I redoubled my efforts and poured all my considerable strength into my craft. For years untold I toiled daily, crafting new more powerful weapons and armours with which to repel the enemies of the elves, until again in 3434 of the second age I thought our doom was upon us. The battle of Dagorlad was where my fate would find me. Wave after wave of the enemy descended upon us and our lines wavered and nearly broke. The enemies swords layed waste to our ranks piercing my plate and mail alike. In that moment I knew a despair deeper than any being should ever know, and to my shame it broke me. I fled, my mind a tattered and ragged thing, no needs but to distance myself from the horrors that lay about me. I was not to know until much later that the battle had been won and Sauron would be defeated. For centuries I wandered far from men and elves a broken and wretched thing, despair and madness my only companions. Until one day my madness led me down paths I had not tread in time immemorial. Imladris loomed before, and my kin brought me home. They nurtured me and brought me back to health, though time and sickness had robbed me of my vitality and strength. Having come back from madness I found myself weak of body but strong of mind. I turned to sorcery for my strength, and found new paths to power. I quickly began to combine my new magic with my skills again, though this time I would take a different approach. I would make new Rings of Power. With them we would forge new cities and strengthen ourselves. Never again would the events at Eregion be replayed. To this end I began searching for Feanors works, and anything relating to the existing Rings. Soon I promised myself, I would take my place beside the greatest of all craftsmen, soon new Rings would be made, MY rings. Many years have passed again since I first regained my strength, I sit now in the Prancing Pony hood up and cloak drawn tight around me awaiting some of my closest friends. Together we will forge a path to victory that will be littered with the corpses of those who destroyed my home. My skills and power are stronger than they have ever been, and the secrets of the Rings are nearly within my grasp……
Lolinus Balix
Headstrong, rash, drunk – all these have been used by those who don’t really know him to describe Lolinus. However those who have managed to get to know him better would use different words – Loyal, Honest, Brave, but most tellingly – Driven.
To understand the driving passions behind this dwarf one must first know something of his past. The Balix clan was a small clan from the Iron Hills, known more for their craftsmen than anything else. A peaceful existence they had always lived, and would have gone on to live if it wasn’t for one small quirk of fate.
Their homeland was directly along the route Smaug took on his way to Erebor. And on his way to that same place he devastated the Balix village. The whole clan died except for Lolinus – who was saved only through the sacrifice of his own parents. Knowing the foul wyrm was upon them, they secreted the young Lolinus in a hidden cave near their village, then fled, allowing the dragon to see them, chase them, and indeed catch and devour them.
At the time a young dwarf, barely out of his childhood, Lolinus staggered away from the destruction of his people and wandered the lands. Long he avoided the homelands of his race, preferring to seek solitude at the bottom of a bottle of ale. Soon he had forgotten all but that he was trying to forget, his skills with crafting were lost, but his loss of all his kin continued to haunt him.
However one day all this was to change. Lolinus had heard that Erebor had been freed from Smaug and he decided to head that way to see if any of his clan still lived. As he traveled he drank more and more ale, until he barley knew which way he was headed. Then in the depths of Mirkwood he was attacked by orcs.
Although he had no formal training with weapons he carried a Battle Axe, the last thing his father had made at the smithy in which he worked. Without a pause for thought Lolinus pulled out the axe and started to swing it wildly. Although he got lucky at first he eventually tripped on a nearby root and fell to the ground. In his blurry vision he could a number of laughing orcs approaching him.
Suddenly the orcs started to fall, one by one they seemed to grow arrows from their chests or throats. A small group of elves, from the woodland realm of Thrandruil had been attracted by the sounds of battle, and their timely intervention had saved Lolinus.
Once he had recovered from his ordeal Lolinus discovered within himself a new drive. His drinking was not honouring the sacrifice his parents had made, worse it was mocking it. Instead he realized that they had given their lives so that he could live – he would make sure that no other parents would be forced to make the same decision. He would do what he could to rid the world of evil.
He started to train in weapons with the Dwarves if Erebor. Although they offered him many a weapon he chose instead to stick to his fathers battleaxe, until such time he felt he was worthy of a better weapon.
Then, when finally he felt ready, he headed once more out into the world. Seeking out evil and battling it when he found it. In his travels in the world he has made many friends, not least of which are his fellow Dwarves – Veld Fellstone, Dargo Trollfallen and Dungrim Ironfist. Although Lolinus is indeed still a mighty drinker he now does this for fun rather than to forget, but once the battle-madness is upon him, there are few warriors who can match him in combat.
Amongst friends Lolinus shows his other side, although sometimes gruff he cares for those around him. He can be something of a peacemaker at times as well. He seems to be driven to look out for those as unfortunate for himself. One of his oldest friends is the human mute Shan Rift, in the long years these two have traveled together they have worked out a language of signs allowing Lolinus to understand Shan. Maybe it was the loss of his own family, or maybe not, but Lolinus definitely has a soft spot for waifs and strays.
Kira Det
From a small semi-barbaric village to the north of the Ettenmoors, Kira Det established a friendship from childhood with one Gabriella of a neighbouring village. The two villages having a relationship of mutual co-operation, one offering the muscle against any encroachment from orcs and such and the other providing forethought and planning to get through hard times such as shortage of game, harsh winters and so forth.
Kira took it upon herself to become the self appointed guardian of Gabriella and whilst on the usual meanderings around their villages they spotted a small encampment of orcs nearby. The girls reported back to the village elders and suggested a plan of action but the men of the two villages decided that the usual and more defensive approach would be taken. Disgusted at the lack of appreciation shown of the situation by the men, the girls took it upon themselves to take care of the orcs by setting off a rock slide. On returning from their victory they were surprised to be further berated by the men for having potentially put the villages in danger.
Totally disgusted by the reaction the girls came to the conclusion that men were absurdly arrogant, blind to what was blatantly obvious and not worth the time of day when it came to matters of trust and defence of loved ones. They would put up with no more of this treatment by fools and thus set off on a road of exploration and adventure.

as long as no one blames argon for this one![]()
Walter, Ive looked at your bio and ive got an edited version to hand. Some of your history is very confused, and contradicts the actual timeline and geography of Middle Earth. Ive emailed you and sent you a PM on a related matter. please have a look at both and send me your reply.

For the sake of completeness, the revised bio for Mana :
~ Mana, daughter of Sagra - Devotee of Ulmo, Lord of the Waters ~
Mana, and most of her family before her, come from a deeply religious background. Mana was born on the banks of the River Anduin to her mother, Sister Sagra Aquamana. It is said by Mana that her mother was a most loyal and devoted follower of Ulmo and that her father is Ulmo himself (a gift to her for her mother's lifelong devotion and loyalty) as her mother was sworn to chastity and had taken the vow of 'wife' to the great Lord of the Waters. (Many of course doubt the veracity of this story and perhaps Ulmo is father to Mana in the spiritual sense alone).
Any that knew Sagra would endorse the fact that she was of great moral character and a vigilantly chaste woman. Some say that she was raped by wildmen who put her with child. Such tales have absolutely no basis of fact, and in her diary (a secret book she wrote her lifes journey in now owned by her daughter Mana) there is no such evidence she in fact states that her pregnancy is a mystery to her and deduces that it can only be a blessing of Ulmo.
After Mana's birth, the child was seen to be most human in apearance though the light of her eyes and lovelyness of her aspect bespoke of her elven mother. Sagra stayed in Lorien for some time until her daughter was no longer an infant. However, after that she left Mana in the care of the Elves of Lorien as she was once again called to go forth and do the works of Ulmo. Her works were famed, being deeds of benvolence and kindness helping any who were in need. It was said, often to the shock of her companions, that Sagra would help anyone, even a goblin if the wretch showed true remorse and a desire to change their ways... Anything to show the love, compassion and power that Ulmo gave her. She was instrumental in the spreading of Ulmo's Word and the teachings of his wisdom.
Sagra often returned to Lothlorien to check on her daughters welfare... but one day she set forth, but did not return. A friend of hers, the Dwarf, Semli Tenatofin, requested entry to Lothlorien and produced her diary, and her Amulet of Ulmo... surely she was dead. In her heart, Mana has little hope of ever finding her mother alive, though she desires greatly to solve the mystery of what became of her.
In this diary it spoke of the many adventures that Sagra and her brave companions endured. For her own part Sagra strove ever to further the cause of the down-trodden and surpressed and spread the Word of Ulmo, any profit from the endeavor given to charitable causes. Even though she would give gold to anyone that asked, Sagra was known to carry much gold as she saved funds to build an orphanage for poor children who had lost their parents to war - a cause Mana now is determined to see to fruition.
Sagra herself came from a line of Sindar, the Grey Elves of Beleriand, who traveled to, and lived as, part of, a secretive enclave of Elves in Eldalondë, the haven of the Bay of Eldanna, on western shores of the Isle of Númenor in the first century of the Second Age. Sagra's people remained apart from the corruption and strife of that land, retreating to the Fragrant Woods of Nísimaldar, where the mallorn trees that would one day seed Lothlorien grew tall and fair. When, after three millennia, the Isle was swallowed by the sea they were spared by Ulmo because of their great devotion. Vast sub-marine caverns swallowed them trapping huge pockets of air. In these enchanted grottoes, lit with crystal-hewn lamps, fed by the fruits of the ocean and forgotten by the rest of the world, they dwelled in the sad ruins of once splendid Eldalondë through many lives of men. Much of the Third Age passed in the world above, unknown to them. They called their home "the City of the Drowned".
Some time in the late second millennium of the Third Age, Sagra and her kin, by agencies unremembered, departed forever the sunken ruins and by the grace of Ossë, made landfall nigh to the mouth of the Anduin. Navigating as far upstream as the Falls of Rauros and finally meeting the Elves of Lorien who took them in despite their somewhat curious apearance. The Galadhrim saw in their semblance the hand of the Lord of the Waters, and in their eyes the deeps of the sea. Upon their fair skin, the light of a melancholy hue as if the starlight they walked beneath were shining through the surface of a deep pool. Their hair was as white as sea foam. It is a strong belief that this was all Ulmos plan and Mana a strong disciple is no different in her thoughts and morales than her forebares.
Mana, however, unlike her mother is some regards, is far more inclined to seek the destruction and erradication of evil through whatever means available and has little regard for flimsy, beaurecratic laws that limit her ability to do so. She is a strong advocate of the end justifying the means and an eager schollar in the ways of espionage and subterfuge. She continues the work and ideology of Ulmo and plans to complete her mothers vision of a temple, orphanage and outpost of charity for the people of the world to share. “It is not theft it is reprisal” is typical of her attitude in taking something from an orcish warrior.
She is well known for her advocacy of benevolence, philanthropy, compassion and loyalty, however is not as foolhardy as her mother in believing that even a goblin can be saved. Mana hates the Enemy in the East, Mordor and all that stand with them. She prays every day for their destruction.

I have tried to keep it short but it is an important change for her so thought may be good to add to Bio.
"On one such occasion Kira travelled back near to her homelands in the companyof a noble warrior off deep faith by the name of Corshand, one of the few men who had gained her trust. They were to offer aid to the people of Forochel by dealing with an unnatural threat in Carn Dum. The events that followed nearly lead to Kira’s demise through her own arrogance and overconfidence in her strength. Corshand’s intervention in saving her life and the following defeat and retreat resulted in a period of reflection and inward looking on the part of Kira. As a consequence of this her persona, although not transformed entirely, became less critical and a little more compationate, this also sowed the first seeds of genuine curiosity as regards matters of faith."

tis done.
Eight centuries ago in the golden wood of Lorien, a young elven maiden cried out to the Valar in her despair. She cried because she was barren, would never have a child of her own, and no one could heal her. At her bleakest moment quiet footsteps brought her back to the world, and she turned to see an ancient elf kneeling beside her in the glade. In a hoarse voice he said, "Ivaneth, giver of life will give life to you. But you must give him to her when the time comes." She stopped crying and wiped away her tears but then he was gone.
Years later she met an elf from Imladris, a skilled warrior and eventually a good husband. They were wed in the woods in Ivaneth's honor (Yavanna in Sindarin) and soon she was with child. Under the golden leaves of mallorns she gave birth to twins, a miracle among the elves. She named the first Tyrion and the second Teclis, and vowed that they would serve Yavanna.
Although identical in form they were opposites in spirit. Tyrion quickly learned the way of the sword like his father and left for Imladris. Often he could be seen frowning at nothing and drowning himself in the finest wine, but in battle he is a dangerous force.
Teclis felt at home in the forests and always kept his vow to serve Yavanna and her creations. He learned the mystic arts in Lorien and devoted himself to healing the sick and wounded. He always carries his longbow and never wields a sword, and is calm and wise where is brother is rash and brave.
While still young in the minds of elves the twins have traveled far on many adventures, most notably battles at Tharbad, Minas Tirith, Dunharrow, and the Isen. Tyrion has cut a path of corpses and Teclis has saved many fallen friends, and they will defend Imladris and Lorien for years to come.

Secret infatuation?
How exciting!!
Andi
Andi Hammer as hes often called by his fellow doormen around tharbad, he often denies knowing how the nick name came about and is often moddest about the power of his punches, he'll proudly boast hes never had to kill a man and often shows disgust when he see one killed.
After 4 long years working some of the roughest taverns in tharbad, he decided he wanted more from life, but did not know what, so he left tharbad and began to travel the lands in search of a what is lacking from his life.
Lauarlea melethril Silivrendil was born in the city of Ilmadris just over 300 years ago, only child to Glavidris and Samadiel. The only thing noteworthy about her birth was her unusual hair colour, green, a trait that arose once every few generations in her mothers line, often associated with great tragedy. Her father Glavidris is a master lute crafter, her mother Samadiel a talented seamstress. Lauralea grew up with all the comforts an elf maid could ask never lacking in material things or the affection of her parents. Though she inherited talents from both her parents , her chief interest was archery and despite her lack of dicipline she was accepted into the border guard for no other reason than this skill. Her military career was cut short however when on a patrol her unit was engaged by atani bandits, she fled her unit and went directly to Ilmadris where she reported the clash. Deemed to unreliable for such service she was set free to persue her interests. Lauralea travelled nearby lands comparing music and poetry of other peoplea to that of her homeland often stumbling into adventure reluctantly but returning home frequently. A point in her life came when she was tasked to venture into Moria to recover information for Lord Elrond, considering the assignment to be certain death she began to live a miserable life of self imposed exile. Many adventures ensued and her archery skills progressed greatly when the great turning point of her life occured. In Edoras after facing a great drake and most overcome with fear she met her future husband Silivrendil sadron Imladris. Apon seeing him her fears vanished, and she immediatly fell under the spell of his charisma and the unusual peace she felt in his presence. Silivrendil quicky became a guiding force for her actions, causing her to push aside fears and selfish motives in order to be the person she thought he would expect her to be, over time her fears began to fade allowing her to complete the task given her and thus end her exile. Knowing that Silivrendil was often away in service of Lord Elrond, she begged Elrond to permit her to accompany him, for whatever reason Elrond decided to make her an initiate of the Tirin Kormi allowing her to share Silivrendils life more fully. As time went by she was transformed by Silivrendils influences, her experiences, and her responsibilities in Tirin Kormi. These forged her into something of a leader, a diplomat and a seeker of lost knowledge. She is now often found in Rivendell seeing to the needs of initiates of the Order in her role as a Guardian of Tirin Kormi, and self appointed den mother, or searching for lost knowledge and secrets. If she will escape the legacy of her unusual birthmark remains to be seen.
