    Merchant Problems

As suggested this is the thread for any bugs/problems you find with merchants, and any ideas.

Please make reports as concise as possible, include merchant tye, name, area merchant is found in and exactly what is wrong.

With suggestions please please keep them sensible and again as concise as possible. Its a lot easier to action concise, detailed ideas.

Once you complete the Dunlander settlement/path of the dead quest, Sergol offers 3 choices when you talk to him. One of them opens the normal shop, one exits the conversation and the other does nothing.

BTW Sergol is in Isengard and he's the light armor merchant.

The Hobbit merchant Lefty in the Green Dragon inn, Bywater, still has the old shop inventory apparently. For example he sells a full stock of Arrows (not Regular Arrows), Arrows +1 and an Amulet of the will +1.

Trence the Ratcatcher in Minas Tirith Gate area is selling traps, but doesn't buy any, referring to them as 'stolen' goods. Also, I believe it was already mentioned before a trash bin in Minas Tirith and Rivendell would be helpful.

Everything up to here has been added to my workbook - hopefully it should be sorted in the next round of fixes. Only re-report these if they are still there after the fixes update has been announced and gone live.

    Many thanks

    Isengard Underground
Grishol sells Improved Robes of the Shining Hand with different properties
    Standard shop:
    AC+3, Listen-1, monk only
    Improved shop:
    AC+2, Listen-1, monk only

The +3 version should be renamed to masterwork robes and part of the improved shop.

In Isengard - Underground, Grishol sells Mantle of the Adventure Master in his improved shop: that's DR10/+3, Sorcerer only - I can't find the thread with item restrictions (could someone link to that please, by the way?), but IIRC there are supposed to be no items with DR.

Is it possible to make Dandy, the cloth/dye merchant in Bywater, sell his dyes (cloth mainly) a bit cheaper? A new char might put something along the lines of - he wears a red shirt - into his char description. He might end up with a very red face if he runs into other chars before he can afford some dye.

Also, it takes a bit of wandering in the Shire before a new char can make some gold (as opposed to say, Dol Guldur). These poor monks only seem to start off with 20 gold as well.

Ponywatchmen Haster in the prancing pony mentions a store for students of the nature in the chetwood. The only building in chetwood seems to be closed. Is there a store somewhere?

I remember a store in Chetwood from UTT1, but can't recall one from UTT2 at all - it may be an old conversationfile that for some reason is still active.

I found a very bizarre problem with some of the merchants in Rivendell. The jeweler lady and the clothing merchant both greeted Finare as 'Steve-Law', which was weird. I then saw that Steve-Law was the last account to have logged on, so I signed out and then signed in again. I then got 'Sulliad *mumble* and things were very strange. They saw that he was an elf, as they spoke in Sindarin but got their names all over the place. May want to look into.

Might I suggest to add Smith's Hammer into Bree blacksmith, too? At least the last time I checked, could not find one there.

When was the last time you looked? It's always been on sale in Bree since I introduced it. I've just checked and it definately is for sale there, before and after the reset. (And in unlimited supply.)
