That one merchant in Lossoth tribe halls - the one with the old man on the bed - will open her store for you only once. When you talk to her a second time she will ask if you want to look at the store, but then the dialogue closes without the store actually opening.

Need to check the merchants for the writing system, which is fun by the way.

The one in the library in Rivendell will buy anything (suggest it should buy nothing) and has a huge buy price setting (I was offered GP 1,500 for a piece of ironwood) - vulnerable to exploitation as is.

It may not have sunbk in, but I have not been active since midweek alst week and won't be until some time tomorrow or wednesday. Therefore, any problems that were there for me to fix, have not been fixed and won't be until I'm active again.

If you want to fix it in the emantime, Kev, I suggest jsut removing all the writing stores, since the scripts aren't wroking properly anyway.

The Esgaroth fruit merchant doesn't sell food, but has the clothing merchant inventory. The favour is not reciprocated by the clothing merchant, so you can't buy nice apples in Esgaroth at the moment.

I tried to find my previous post on the subject, but I didn't find it... Melinda the cunning fruit merchant, sells apples only when she has to. When ever the merchant selling clothes and dyes mistakes not to keep an eye on her, she sneaks closer and sells some of his wares right under his nose. Quite bold I'd say.

In another words Melinda sells fruits in general but when ever he gets close to the clothing merchant, she sells stuff from his inventory. She propably would do the same to any other merchant were she able to wander inside the smithy or general store...

    Forochel Merchant

I mentioned this in another thread but then I realised this is the more appropriate. One of the merchants on Forochel ( I'm pretty sure it was the lore master) has a problem. When I first looked at his inventory he sold some quite powerful items, including a Spear called Hoark Reaver. Then when I checked him again the items weren't available anymore. The server reset seemed to fix this. I'm wondering if the issue was caused by a high level character accessing the merchant before me?

The items are found from there because some character sold them before you talked with the given vendor.
Merchants don't reset their wares between PCs on this module.

Aye, the spear in question is a special item which can be found on your adventures. The merchant himself does sell a range of rarer items; you wont find this happening much in utt2 yet, as this was a bit of an experiment.

Daisy was much surprised to find out that her old and dear friend lady Linwen of Mithlond has apparently closed down her wonderful herbalist store - or at least that's what "I'm sorry, but there is no store available" seems to imply.

Some of the herbalists are temporarily out of service; deciding how to run these stores without making them rendering herblore a pointless crafting choice.

Erebor smith is selling great axes up to level 35 with +8d10 bonus damage. As the level cap is currently 30 I'm guessing this is a mistake?! As much as Greg would love such an axe, something more in line with his level range would be nice!

Something similar is happening with the dwarven war axe sold by Barliman in the prancing pony.

Status: Resolved both issues - This is some strangeness which occured when we updated to CEP 2.3 due to the update adding lots of new item properties. Reports of all such items including shop keepers name and the name of the items appreciated

    In Isengard:

Grishol sells some robes usable by only sorcerers. And since we fortunately have none of those classes anymore...
The 3 items sold by Sergul are already sold by Grorum as well
And there is an insible Blacksmith Workbench

Status: All identified, will be handled in the Isengard sweep when it happens

Holano in Tharbad is selling an Improved Dwarven Waraxe (+1) for something on the order of 1.5 million gold, probably due to 7d8 slashing bonus on it. Not sure if it's a bug, but both the price and the bonus definitely raised a brow...

Status: Resolved, thanks. Another item that got screwed by the CEP 2.3 item properties addon.

Kurglen, the orc smith in Dol Guldur, has a tooth against one (!) of my characters, also an orc. For whatever reason, this poor schmuck does not get the "Arms & Armor" store option, but only "Ammo". I couldn't figure out what, precisely, causes this, as all other my characters that I've tried could successfully access the weapon/armor store from the same merchant. It's certainly not race (tried other orcs), and it is unlikely to be level (he is lvl8, and I tried others both above and below him). Doesn't seem to be related to tokens.

I suspect that this may have to do with the fact that the poor creature has INT 6 and CHA 6. Couldn't think of any other way he's different from the rest of the bunch.

Status: That could be the most likely cause. Perhaps I missed one of the old scripts I was supposed to take out of the conversation. Will investigate today.

Erebor smith is selling throwing axes +2, but the level limit and gold cost (75,000gp for 50!) seem way off.

Do any other merchants sell throwing axes?

Status: Will be corrected. Axes need to be added to ammo stores, which markdown the excessive costs generated by the games default dnd system. Im not very knoweldgeable of their availability - ill check this too. *Fixed*

Kev, not sure the throwing axe issue is 100% fixed.

It's currently 1gp for 50 standard, 5,000gp for 50 +1 axes and nearly 19,000 for 50 +2 axes from the erebor merchant. That uplift doesn't stack up for me. Compared to arrows and bolts they seem very expensive.

Thank you - looks like we have 2 issues here. The axes were not being sold in the ammo store, where they should be - this is what was fixed. I recall finding a way to bypass the silly price issue, I will sort this issue out too.

Dwarven waraxes seem over priced with all merchants and over powered in a number of cases. Prime examples are Veld in Esgaroth and the smith in Erebor, though Barliman and the exotic weapons chap in Tharbad are also being a bit cheeky with their demands!

Any specific examples? Velds store was checked carefully before anything was put into it. Note that the store is a general store - it provides items for a wide range of character levels.

Im happy to make any small changes if needed. Working on something very big right now which involves laketown - something you may be interested in, keep an eye out!
