Yup, checks only apply to the character taking the quest.

If a high level can take a quest, it goes without saying he will need the company of characters of similar reputation.

If you do one of my quests, it also goes without saying that you will run into trouble

Not much you can do there. Death or glory I say, regardless what my OOC knowledge may be

When poor Tom blackmailed Bill Ferny for an agreed 300 gold, the sneaky so and so only handed over 100!

Methinks an unfortunate "accident" is coming Bill's way....the orphans demand it!
Some say he's mad; others that lesser hate him

    regarding min level:
I got the quest at lvl 17

    regarding retreat:
Has nothing to do with levels. In fact you can retreat from this quest (or so i believe). But you cannot get in again. Quests this level were designed for well mixed parties. If you get the feeling that you may need more help, you should be able to go outside the tomb, hire one more knight of Gondor and enter again.

    regarding tactics:
Our party was very well mixed and would have been able to handle the quest. I know very well why we were slaughtered nevertheless (but i won't discuss this here). I have no problems that we failed.

I wanted to point out that there may be a bug regarding the key. If you want the quest to be a one-shot try, then the bug is that you can get multiple keys. Otherwise there should be an option to reenter the tomb.
It is quite disturbing to gather a party for a quest but suddenly find the door before you slams shut and leaves you outside with no way to join again.
To realize truth you have to doubt before...

Best chances to meet in game (GMT): 20:00-23:00 on weekdays, randomly at weekends

    Quest:
The grainsacks for the miller - Shire

    Problem:
The 2 farmers (one is Jobe goodman cant tell the other one's name) who sell their grain sack dont need money. If you dont have any gp you can still 'buy' them.

    Quest:

    Stolen golden harp in Bree

    Problem:
When you decide to kill the thief you find a letter refering to Bill ferny. When you confront him with it you can decide to accept his bribe. He tells you that hell give you 300gp if you give him the letter. When you do, you only get 100gp.

Everything up to here has been added to my workbook - hopefully it should be sorted in the next round of fixes. Only re-report these if they are still there after the fixes update has been announced and gone live.

    Many thanks

I've taken a look at what you've mentioned, Eddie.

The prison walls do seem to be crossable, though i swear we fixed this some time ago during tests. I'll use a non cep wall I think as it seems CEP team don't understand the concept of impassable walls.

The double xp reward is obviously an error so either I or Lorien will hunt this one down.

Again, no sign of 'bugs' in the conversations. I'd need more information to action these. Unless you are referring to grammatical errors, in which case are errors and just require you to give us the exact whereabouts of them.

    No fire arrows in stores?

An unfortunate slip of the mind, they will be added to stores by the player liasion team.

Kev use fallen timbers at barriers and put the walls on top of them. Fortunately (although strangely) the plank is uncrossable.

Dragon quest in Isengar: Even if complete and if I have the white hand token, the marshall still want to hire me to hunt the dragon down. Though I shouldnt be allow to make it again since I prove myself already. The next quest, moria, can be taken as well without any problem.

Here is what i observed for that quest... if you only completed the postal delivry quest you can't take it again, but once you have done the one with farmer maggot, you can take it again. So i think it means that the second shirrif badge will not be detect when trying to take the letter delivry quest.

Indeed that is the case. Its on the list of things to be fixed at the moment.

In the meantime if you know a quest has aleady given you a token then avoid repeating it. The shire quests provide enough xp to get you started without the need to do any of them more than once.

I'm sure you're well aware of this one, but since I saw no mention of it in this thread, I'll add it anyway. The first Rivendell quest: the transition out of the quest area does not work, and the quest cannot be completed until next reset, when others in the party may no longer be available to join in the reward for their efforts. This has proved to be a handicap for players in timezones that are often without DM coverage, since they cannot move on to the other Rivendell quests until this one is completed.

Minas Tirith - The old guesthouse

A persuaded Mathas of the greyflood inn offers to sell the vintage Tharbad ale for 2000 but takes 2500 from your pouch. Obviously just a minor error in the conversation.

From the point of view of a bug the convo could allow that you accept or decline his terms after a persuade failure rather than have the dialogue simply end. I havent looked at that convo as its not one i did, but no harm in checking.

In general, when we include a persuade option, we dont add extra variables and checks to prevent repeated attempts. The answer is to simply not select the persuade option repeatedly until you get a success when you have already failed. We thank you for your co-operation.

Laketown/Merchant's daughter quest. Daughter died on journey back, but when we arrived in Laketown she was there? I inadvertenly exploited this by talking to the daughter and then the merchant - I was reading the conversation and missed my parties warning while reading the conversation/not paying total attention - apologies, responsibility is totally mine, not other members of party. However, the fact remains this is bugged.

Have her suddenly explode at the end of the quest. Like "Oh crud, it looks like the spider queen laid her eggs inside claret. Oh well...we got our reward anyways".
Osaka: Chiyo-chan! How can you fly?
    Chiyo-chan: I'm ten years old!

I let her follow me away and quietly dispose of her in a OOC fashion. Keeps multiple Clarets from building up in town and stops players from accidently completing the quest without rescuing her.

Doesn't that give evil points though? And thus is unsuitable for good/neutral aligned characters?
