How about Nosferatu, (but I haven't checked on its current progress)? It uses Qfusion as a base, so uses alot of Q3 elements ( maps, models, etc ), so maybe Q3-ish enough to consider to look at?
I have been watching this also for a long time and your right Nosferatu does look the dogs nuts. The team are a really nice bunch of young fellas that seem to have a firm grasp on things, very talented crew. This is no guarantee of a release but it is definitely a title to watch. Costs f*ck all as well, not bad....
About time we evolved a bit from HLVS, although that was good fun. If you download the development documentation from the team the ideas they have just blew me away, UV grenades just how cool is that... New concepts and ideas on the whole Vampire vs VS model, looks great and is free so yeah I agree is a title WPQ should look at offering support too early on.
If it uses a developed Q2 engine it must deserve some air time here? I am sure they would welcome the support and it would make a pleasent change to get a UK foot hold in for a change............... for a free project it looks like quality work to me.

I suppose the real crunch is, who would play it here as in bother to clan and take it serious?
Tremulous is another one and is out this Friday.
That has been to some extent the problem with certain mods & games, they simply couldn't get UK exposure needed to flourish, the kind of typicial catch 22, where no exposure, means no servers, means no community, etc, etc.
The pluses of a free standalone game are many, but given the contraints on most players actual game time vs number of choices, I don't think some will be taken that seriously to the extent of clans. So I have no clear idea how a place like WP could substain longterm interest in such individual projects, unless they become something akain to what Q2 K2K was, where WP was the central hub for this part of the world.
A new version of FTEQW is out. Not Q3, since its coming from QWorld, but sounds an intriguing enough concept for a curious look-see.
