News:
Late engine change for Massa
Ferrari’s Felipe Massa will start the Australian Grand Prix from the back of the grid after the team opted to change his car’s engine on Sunday morning. Massa had qualified in 16th place after gearbox problems hampered his qualifying session.
The change means the Brazilian must drop ten grid places, leaving him 22nd and last alongside the Ferrari-powered Spyker of Christijan Albers. However, the team could opt to start him from the pit lane to avoid the possibility of getting caught up in any first-corner dramas.
Ferrari will now have cars at the very front and back of the Melbourne grid. Massa’s team mate Kimi Raikkonen will start from P1 after beating McLaren rival Fernando Alonso to pole position on Saturday.
