    Left for Dead 2 Opinions

Due to many different things herd i'd like to ask your opinion.

I dont really know. Considering it's pretty quick after L4D1 it was kind of like buying a beta, i dont like that. In fact I hate it. Valve needs to change prices for L4D2 for people who have 1.

Valve has yet to make a bad game. Nothing indicates that L4D2 will be the first bad one.

bad game or not, unless its cost no more than £10 i wont be buying it, l4d turned out to be somewhat of a fad game, i see no reason why l4d 2 would be any diffrent.

L4D is not a fad game, and unless below £10 is a bit overreacting but if valve charges full price of 50 then no thanks. L4D2 has some different weapons and some different special infected but thats all basically.

Im really quite sure l4d is a fad game, almost everyone i know has stopped playing it now. and whats so overreacting about under £10, the first one cost me £17 a think a price drop of £7 is perfectly acceptable for what is basically an expansion pack.

£17? oh wow, i payed 38. but if you you payed 17 then yes, it is not overreacting. even though evry1 you know might not play it but there still are plenty of people who play it.

I'm also still playing it, it's great on versus, never get tired of it

The new campaign seems to be a bit rushed though, and also, lame excuse with "We wanted to make versus shorter"

That's because people were bitching about the same campaigns over and over again.

I will probably buy L4D2, I was tempted once to say L4D was a boom and bust game but the global server stats cannot be wrong?

My only gripe is finding a good way to meet for games, finding a game in IRC is a bit difficult sometimes you cannot always guarantee what times you will be online. Is there no way a bot could be used in IRC to add up to and then start the game on a Wireplay server? You have the ability to start a game with a meet and great all function, which is great but it would be nice to add up from the Wireplay L4D channel?

L4D2 looks as beautiful and as much fun as it's predecessor I just wonder if it will generate more of an interest? Pricing is fairer than before although when you look at the pre purchase bundle offer from STEAM, you are paying £45.00 for a wonderfully crafted team based shooter and an addon. Expensive compared to most PC titles these days but worth it?

We did have a system like that - coded by WannabeUK. I decided to terminate it because no-one used it. Also, Mulitiplay stole it.

I cannot comment about the whole Multiplayer deal. Did people move away from Wireplay and take work with them or it was loaned to someone and they ran away with it? Theft!

Why run x10 L4D servers empty? You could condense 5 for the purpose of one 20 slot vs server, two 4 slots (custom / standard) and possibly advertise the ladder with a private server running on restricted resources while not in use?

    Shameless bump

The demo is great, I love the fact they have featured brighter, bigger areas in parts. My favourite portion has to be the run too the scaffolding to turn the alarm off, brilliant! I never thought hitting zombies with a frying pan could be so much fun

Is there any free open source bots that could provide the ability to add up from the Wireplay IRC channel or are we all comfortable with using the Steam friends list? If you cannot justify a server being left empty for 4 days out of 3 then could it be a Friday Saturday and Sunday thing only?

Is there going to be a Wireplay team playing?

    L4D 2 is great

the fact that all that new gear is involved is great!

they made the melle cooldown a standard to the game in all settings.

they give you a bile bomb that is much more effective than a pipe bomb (try the bile bomb vs the pipe on the run the shut of the loud speaker or w/e)

    new sniper is just great.

    there is resurrection now.

the new zombie characters are insane! there are 2 boomers now, one male and one female, so there might be a possibility that 2 boomers will spawn at once in versus.

with adrenalin shot, you have increased speed... this tool could be endless. beat an infected to a wall (los) or make a jump that you couldent make without that extra speed. I cant wait to explore the new levels.

The game looks and plays like the first one but its not the same game, im sure you all noticed, those of you who played the original shortly after the demo....

i give it two thumbs up

I'd say it's much faster, instead of the slow, creeping L4D1!

I was reading an article yesterday and apparently the cut german release of the l4d2 demo runs up to 40% faster than the uncut version the rest of us have :/

Interesting argument about the difference in performance although super tweaking has been around since day one, especially for serious players. I will admit on the rare occasion a game can hold my attention for any length of time, I enjoy it and complete it, I would then want to remove any candy from the game to squeeze as much as I can from my rig. Throw away all the gaff I do not need and focus on aim / gameplay.

Being a complete newcomer to Steam with no in depth knowledge of L4D server administration is it possible to enforce a minimum level of gfx enabled on a client with server settings? Is there no bottom line on the level of tweaking?

I have the german version, and we don't have any blood nor any police zombies and the other zombies in white overalls...
